gDiapers: A Great Way to Support Sustainable Purchasing

In our efforts to maintain sustainable purchasing, my wife and I have been looking at different kinds of diapers and wipes. In a previous post I mentioned that we really like Seventh Generation, but recently we came across gDiapers. As far as sustainable purchasing goes, this Eco-product looks to be even better than what we have been using.

What Sustainable Purchasing Can Mean

So, basically the way that gDiapers work is through a biodegradable insert that fits into a cover that the baby wears. The covers are actually pretty cool, and come in a lot of different colors. Now, as with many things involving sustainable purchasing, gDiapers are more expensive than conventional diapers, and even more expensive than Seventh Generation. The way I look at it is that green purchasing means spending the extra money to help save our planet and its living systems.

Going Green Should Also Be About Innovation

In my opinion there should not be a disparity between Eco-products and efficiency. Not to mention that these products tend to be more expensive because they have not been given enough market support yet. But I have noticed this trend shifting bit by bit as the products become higher in quality, and more accessible in terms of price.

You do not need to be an environmentalist to support Eco-products. You can think of supporting these products as saving us money in the long run, as we have to put less and less of our energy towards things like fossil fuels and maintaining landfills.Take the edge off for the planet, and buy something green today.
